According to Cleveland County Ark Sheriff a 13 year old girl shot herself.
A Helena West Helena Police Officer is being praised for his actions today after talking a suicidal women down from jumping off the Mississippi Bridge.
Without the quick response and actions from Officer Jackson, the women would have plunged to her death. Police were alerted to the incident Monday morning when several motorists noticed a car parked on the bridge and seen a women on the bridge, the citizens called 911 and talked with the lady until the officer arrived.
Chief Green, stated officer Jackson was professional and handled the situation very well, to be a new officer with the agency. Chief Green stated the agency has had two previous suicide in the past couple of months, where women have jumped to their death. One body has been recovered ,while the other hasn’t been recovered The unidentified lady was transported to a local mental health facility for evaluation.

Sometimes the kindness of strangers comes through when it’s needed most. When a lost little boy crossed paths in Alabama with a work crew from Arkansas, the stranger was an Entergy Arkansas lineman.
Caleb Fowler was far from his home in McGehee the morning of Oct. 17. He and his Entergy Arkansas travel team were in Birmingham and had just spent their last night on the road after 11 long days of helping restore power following the Oct. 6 U.S. landfall of Hurricane Matthew.
On Sunday, October 23, 2016, a pickup truck driven by elderly gentleman that may have suffered a seizure pressed the accelerator and drove his pickup truck completely through the south west section brick wall entering the store about ten feet near the produce department narrowly missing a young shopper. The store has been cleaned up inside and plywood affixed to cover the large hole in the wall until it can later be properly repaired.
