Lincoln County Ark Residents Vote On May 22nd For New Jail

Residents in Lincoln County Arkansas have a new jail listed on the May 22nd General Election ballot for a purposes new jail. The new jail will be funded by an increase of sales tax of 1% Jail Tax The current jail is over 40 years old and has been a constant state of degradation and disrepair.

Hermitage Ark Police Dept. Putting A Stop To Underage ATV Riding On City Streets In Town

At last weeks Hermitage Ark city council meeting the city addressed a issue to Hermitage Ark Police Chief Poole about underage children riding ATV’s on city streets in town. Chief Poole says the new law doesn’t affect their city ordinances, concern was brought up about after an under aged children were riding without supervision. Chief Poole will continue to address this matter with parents. Chief Poole says that officers will enforce it the way they do with age riding, putting a stop to it when they find them.

Lake Village Ark Home Of Good Fishing Sign Comes Down After 60 Years

Residents in Lake Village Ark are sadden that the Welcome To Lake Village Ark Home Of Good Fishing Sign has came down after 60 years. The reason for it having to come down is due to extensive rust damage and structural failure. There is discussion of a new sign for the three entrances into Lake Village Arkansas.

Human Skeletal Remains Found, Investigation Ongoing

On Monday, March 26th at approximately 1:00 p.m. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober was notified by phone that a resident in Drew County had found what appeared to be human skeletal remains in a wooded area behind a home on Highway 138, east of Monticello. Once on scene, members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Department and Arkansas State Police collected the evidence.  The remains are believed to be that of a black male.  The remains have been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for positive identification.  The investigation is still ongoing.

Traffic Stop Yields 7.2 Grams Of Methamphetamine Lands Pine Bluff Ark Man Arrested In Drew County

On March 24, 2018 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Deputy Steven Stain conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Kenneth Adair in Monticello.

During the stop it was determined that Richard Shannon Ramsey, 38 had a warrant out of Pine Bluff.  Ramsey also had a small amount of marijuana.

A further search of the vehicle by Deputy Stain with the assistance of Monticello Police Officer William West, revealed approximately 7.2 grams of crystal like substance which is believed to be methamphetamine.  The substance was found by Officer West in a cigarette box which was located on the driver side of the vehicle.

Kenneth Adair, 42, of Monticello, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and placed in the Drew County Detention Facility on a $2,000.00 bond. Ramsey was transferred to Pine Bluff on active warrant out of Pine Bluff.
