(UPDATE) According to the Arkansas State Police Fatal crash summary 5 people died and left 5 people injured from yesterday accident. The initial narrative of the accident was that 2018 Freight-liner was traveling southbound on US HWY 65 nearing the state HWY 35 intersection (V1). A 2018 Ford was traveling westbound on state HWY 35 attempting to cross over US HWY 65 southbound lanes but failed to yield to the approaching 2018 Freight-liner. The front of the freight liner struck the right side of the 2018 white ford causing both vehicles to travel in a south western direction off the west side of the roadway into west roadside where they came to final rest.
The injured was taken to McGehee Hospital and Chicot Memorial Medical Center.
(Original Story) At 2:46 pm Dermott Arkansas Fire Department was paged out to a serious vehicle accident involving a 18 wheeler and a CB King Memorial bus that collided in the intersection of US 65 / 35 at the Halley Junction.
