Arkansas Highway Commission Approves Bid for Improvements in Desha County
DESHA COUNTY (1-28) – The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Desha County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
The purpose of this project is to widen 4.4 miles of Highway 159 shoulders between Highways 138 and 65.
Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Company of Pine Bluff was awarded the contract at $1,311,155.96.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2021.

The purpose of this project is to resurface 1.43 miles of State Police Road (County Roads 25, 26, & 405) and near the city of Dumas.
Smackover Paving Company of Smackover was awarded the contract at $163,274.64.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2021.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved three bids for improvements to a roadway in Desha County.

The purpose of the first project is to widen 4.4 miles of Highway 159 shoulders between Highways 138 and 65.

The purpose of the second project is to resurface 1.43 miles of State Police Road (County Roads 25, 26, & 405) and near the city of Dumas.

The purpose of the third project is to resurface 4.3 miles of Highway 54 between the city of Dumas and Highway 83.
