DERMOTT — On Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 2 a.m., Dermott Police Department (DPD) responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at 302 North Shepherd Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, there were several people outside a building where a Halloween party had taken place. Officers discovered Joshua Thompson, 27, laying on the ground beside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to McGehee Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 3 a.m.
DPD asked Arkansas State Police (ASP) to investigate, and the Criminal Investigation Division reported to the scene.
The deceased will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab, where manner and cause of death will be determined.
