Beef Week scheduled to begin Monday as beenpostponed. Out of an abundance of caution, the UAM campuses in Monticello, Crossett and McGehee will move all instruction to a virtual setting beginning March 12 until at least Monday, March 30. No confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been identified among any campus faculty, students, or staff. As a result of no students on campus, the event will be rescheduled to a later date.
Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association Fires Up Grill to Promote Beef Week 2020
Monticello, AR- When is the last time you had beef? How about this Monday? The UAM Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association will offer free beef products to anyone on campus on March 16-18th in front of the University Center. Home decision makers and consumers of beef can receive samples of prepared beef products. On Wednesday, March 18th the UAM Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association will be grilling free hamburgers and handing out pamphlets about beef. Each of the activities will happened from 12:00 to 1:30 pm in front of the University Center on campus. Advisor Greg Montgomery says the Association will spend the week providing education on beef and promoting the beef industry. They will have information on nutrition, types of meat cuts, recipes, and preparation tips. The UAM Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association is made up of students who want to promote and educate the general public about the cattle industry from farm to plate.
