The Arkansas-Monticello softball team came into the 2022 Great American Conference tournament eager to keep their season alive as they took on #1 seed Arkansas Tech. Unfortunately, the Blossoms fell in Saturday afternoon’s match-up, 6-0, closing out their tournament run, as well as their 2022 season.

The Golden Suns were the first team to get a run on the board, scoring their first run of the ball game on a home run in the first inning.

Arkansas Tech found a rally in the third inning to give themselves five more runs, increasing their lead to 6-0 over UAM.

Through best efforts, the ladies of Monticello were unable to claw their way back throughout the remainder of the ball game, with the score eventually ending at 6-0 after seven.

Pitching Performances
Sam Stephens started in the circle for the blossoms, going 2.1 total innings with 3 runs earned on 4 hits. She struck out a batter in her outing.
