The Arkansas-Monticello softball program came home from Henderson State Saturday afternoon with a series WIN over the Reddies. The Blossoms split the day, winning the first game, 10-1, in five innings and losing the final game of the series, 5-3.
Game 1
UAM struggled to find a gap in the first innings, but found their stride as the game continued. The Blossoms pushed 3 runs across in the second inning. Haley Cornell scored on an Averie Gunther single to left center, Gunther crossed the plate courtesy of an Alissa Suarez single through the four hole, and Suarez scored a run on a Grace Neal single to left center.
Monticello found two more runs in the third as Caroline Tedder stole home and Maddie Challenburg scored as Lauryn Davies was walked.
Three more runs touched home in the fourth. Shae Shoquist and Hannah Holdbrook each scored from third due to walks, and Tedder crossed the plate on a Gunther single.
The Blossoms scored their final two runs of the ball game in the fifth. Madison Morrissey and Hannah Holdbrook each scored on a handful of singles. The Reddies put up a run in the bottom half of the inning, but it proved to be of no use as Monticello would win the game in 5 innings, 10-1.

Both UAM runs came in the 5th inning as Shea Shoquist scored on a Caroline Tedder SAC fly and Madison Morrissey crossed the plate on a Haley Cornell double down the right field line.
