
BETHANY, Okla. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team traveled to Bethany, Oklahoma for game one of their Great American Conference series with Southern Nazarene University on Friday. The Blossoms came out of the first game with a 7-4 win over the Crimson Storm.

Scoring Recap:
Southern Nazarene put three runs on the board in the third to take a 3-0 lead over the Blossoms.
Arkansas-Monticello responded with five runs in the fifth to take back the lead from the Crimson Storm. Hannah Holdbrook ripped a single through the four-hole to score the first Blossom run, followed by a 2 RBI double to center from Bailey Camp to tie the game at 3-3. Grace Neal singled to center field to have Holdbrook cross the plate to take the lead. Sophie Wood walked to bring home the fifth run of the inning.
Hannah Holdbrook drove in a second run on the game in the sixth, followed by a SAC fly from Grace Neal to score UAM’s final run of the game.
SNU would score a final run in the sixth, but were unable to outscore the Blossoms, resulting in a 7-4 victory for Arkansas-Monticello.
Pitching Performances
– Kayla Olthouse grabbed a start in game one, tossing 2.1 innings with 3 runs allowed on 5 hits.
– Sam Stephens closed out the remaining 4.2 innings of the game. She allowed 1 run on 3 hits with three strikeouts.
Offensive Showcase
– Hannah Holdbrook – 4-for-4 with 2 RBI and 1 Run Scored
– Jadyn Ferguson – 3-for-4 with 2 Runs Scored
The WIN on the day pushes Arkansas-Monticello to 15-13 on the season.
