BLOSSOMS TAKEN DOWN IN ARKADELPHIA

ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Volleyball team traveled to Henderson State University for a conference match Thursday night. The Blossoms played just three sets, falling to HSU.

UAM moved to 9-18 on the season after losing to the Reddies.

The opening set went back and forth with the Reddies taking the lead first. The Blossoms came close to tying the game up multiple times, but HSU managed to hold on for the first set win 25-18.

In the second set UAM struggled to find some momentum as HSU jumped to an early 5-0 lead. The Blossoms did their best to battle back as the Reddies continued to tack on more points, but could not find their footing and eventually lost the set 25-15.

The third set started very similar to the second as HSU was quick to take a lead. UAM showed fight as they battled back and took the lead. As the set went on, the Blossoms couldn’t keep up with the Reddies. Henderson State would score the final point and close out the match 25-17.

Mikaela Brown lead the Blossoms in kills with 8.

Mia Smalls contributed 22 assists in the match.

Defensively, the Blossoms were lead by Katelyn Richbourg pacing the team with 20 digs.

UAM returns home for a GAC matchup on Senior Night with Arkansas Tech Tuesday, Nov. 9. First serve is at 6 p.m.
