COMMERCE, TX. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s basketball team falls on the road Saturday 104-56 to Texas A&M University – Commerce.
The first half of the match started out very slow for the Blossoms, as the team couldn’t seem to have any shots falling for them. Falling behind early, UAM was only able to put up 14 points throughout the entirety of the first quarter. The second quarter was a bigger struggle for the Blossoms as they were only able to put up 3 points. Heading into the locker room at the half, the Monticello ladies trailed the Lions 52-17.
It seemed like something sparked for the Blossoms as they came out of the locker room to start the third quarter. UAM was able to outscore the Texas A&M – Commerce team 26-25; unfortunately this did not shorten the Lion lead by much.
The fourth quarter turned out to be very similar to the first half. The Blossoms struggled to put the pieces in place as the Lions would out score UAM 27-13 to tack on to their lead. The teams would finish out the match with a final score of 104-56.
Taylor Flores finished as the leading scorer for the Blossoms tallying 19 points in the game.
