C&L continues to monitor the weather forecasts for Tropical Storm Laura. This storm has the potential for heavy rain and strong winds which may cause power outages in the C&L Electric service areas as early as Wednesday night.
We are in regular communication with the electric cooperatives throughout the state and are taking steps to prepare for severe weather and possible widespread outages. This includes working to ensure that we have additional people and resources to respond to outages safely and efficiently.
C&L will perform damage assessments and dispatch crews as quickly as weather conditions allow us to safely repair any damage that may occur as a result of the storms. However, restoration times could be extended if outages are widespread.
We encourage our members to prepare and plan for the approaching severe weather. If you or a family member have health conditions that require electricity, now is the time to plan in the event the approaching storm creates widespread multi-day outages.
We will post restoration updates on Facebook during outage events. Please note that the dispatch center is NOT updated based on comments on Facebook posts.
In the event you have an outage please call our dispatch center at 870-628-4221. The dispatch center will use your phone number or C&L account number to update your outage in the dispatch database. (Please ensure that we have the most updated phone number for your account on file.) Once the outage is restored you will receive a call back indicating that your power should be restored.
If you are still without power, follow the phone prompt to notify us that your power is not restored. This will eliminate the need for you to make an additional call into the dispatch center. This will help reduce the high volume of calls to our call center and allow new outage calls to be fielded.
