Calhoun County Arkansas Sheriff Deputies Make Drug Bust On HWY 167 N of Hampton Arkansas

On May 21, 2022 Deputies Johnson and Estes conducted a traffic stop on Highway 167 North of
Hampton. Upon making contact with the driver, deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana
coming from the vehicle. Deputy Johnson identified the driver as Hyman Davis and asked him to
exit the vehicle after Davis admitted to smoking marijuana in the vehicle a short time before the
traffic stop was conducted. Upon a search of the vehicle a backpack was located in the vehicle that
obtained 15 clear baggies containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, 5 separate
clear baggies containing a white crystal-like substance believed to methamphetamine, 3 separate
baggies of a white powder substance believed to be cocaine, an off-white rock like substance
believed to be crack cocaine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. There was also $2800.00 in
cash seized from the traffic stop. Hyman was placed under arrest and transported to the Calhoun
County Detention Center where he was booked on 2 counts of Possession of Meth or Cocaine with
Purpose to Deliver GT 10 grams but LT 200 grams, Possession of Schedule VI with Purpose to
Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Davis was taken for a first appearance and given a
$50,000.00 bond. Total weights of the seized narcotics consist of, 148 grams of suspected marijuana,
158.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 21.9 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine.
