The Arkansas State Police Highway Patrol Division was contacted by federal law enforcement authorities Thursday afternoon requesting assistance in locating a vehicle being driven in the area of South Main Street and Roosevelt Road.
At 2:08 PM a state trooper assigned to Troop A attempted to initiate a traffic stop of the vehicle matching the description identified by FBI Special Agents. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop when the trooper activated the patrol car emergency equipment. As the vehicle approached Roosevelt Road and I-30, the driver sped away in the suspect vehicle and fled the area entering the south interchange and proceeding to I-530 south.
A pursuit of the vehicle continued into Jefferson County where the driver and another occupant abandoned the car and fled on foot southwest of Pine Bluff. State troopers captured the two and released both into the custody of FBI agents.
