City Flag lowered to half-staff in memory of former Chief Deputy Sheriff Hood
Today Mayor Zack Tucker signed a proclamation ordering the Flag of the City of Monticello to be placed at half-staff in memory of former Chief Deputy Sheriff Robin Hood who passed away Wednesday. The City Flag will remain at half-staff until sundown Saturday, July 18, 2016; the day of Mr. Hood’s funeral.
“Hood served the Monticello area on the Monticello Police Department and then on the Drew County Sheriffs Department for 15 years,” said Mayor Zack Tucker. “He’s years of service was greatly appreciated; and the I will be eternally grateful for his friendship and service for the community.”
He was the Chief Deputy of the Drew County Sherriff’s Office and has been involved in all phases of law enforcement. In addition to his law enforcement service to the community, Robin was a minister, gospel singer, guitar player and was a Mason.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
