ASHLEY COUNTY (12-14) – Construction to widen Highway 425 in Ashley County requires lane closures on the highway, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, northbound and southbound lanes on Highway 425 will alternately be closed for approximately one mile beginning 1.5 miles north of the Louisiana state line. Crews will be constructing a box culvert across the roadway, which requires alternating lane closures beginning Tuesday, December 15 at 7 a.m. and continuing through Thursday,
December 17 at 11 a.m.
Traffic will be controlled by flagging operations and a pilot car, signage, and construction barrels. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds.
This project (Job CA0201) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening approximately 10 miles of Highway 425 to four lanes with a center paved median, from the Louisiana state line to the intersection with Highway 82. More information on this $44.6 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
