The Dallas County Office of Emergency Management was awarded a $20,000.00 grant from the Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust for the purpose of providing a mass notification system and an early warning weather service for Dallas County.
The funds will be used to procure a system that will be able to send automated weather notifications and community event notifications to citizens of Dallas County as well as provide IPAWS push notifications in the event of a life threatening disaster or emergency.
The remaining funds will go toward the purchase of new equipment for the county’s Emergency Operations Center and 911 to better aid in disaster and emergency response.
The Dallas County Office of Emergency Management also received a $2,000.00 grant from the Blue and You Foundation for the purpose of purchasing and AED for use in the courthouse as well as stop the bleed kits for responders.
