At one point, Kelly got onto Highway 65, driving in the opposite direction, endangering numerous motorists. As Kelly traveled to State Police Road and began traveling back towards Mitchellville, Dumas P.D. Units arrived in the area to assist. After entering Mitchellville, Kelly continued to flee, driving through more residential yards. Kelly then abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. He was soon apprehended by Dumas Officers on Grant Street. Kelly was transported to the Dumas City Jail, where he was booked on Felony fleeing, and numerous other traffic violations.
On 2/19/2023 at 9:45 p.m., while Deputy Reshawn Bledsoe was patrolling the Jefferson Community, he observed a vehicle backed into a field just off the roadway. As Deputy Bledsoe got out of his unit to investigate for possible criminal activity, a white male, later identified as 62-year-old Greg Holloway of Gillette, got out of his vehicle and met Deputy Bledsoe. Holloway stated that he had just dropped his boyfriend off in Dumas, but could not explain when he was parked on private property on Ward Cutoff Road. Deputy Bledsoe smelled an odor of intoxicants emitting from Holloway, who became belligerent and non-compliant. As Deputy Bledsoe tried to administer field sobriety tests, Holloway stated that he had dope in his car, and he did not want to go to jail. Holloway then defecated in the roadway, while being verbally combative. After he was finished relieving himself, Deputy Bledsoe attempted to place Holloway under arrest. Holloway resisted and began punching and kicking Deputy Bledsoe. After a lengthy physical altercation, Holloway slipped away and got back into his vehicle and fled south, on Ward Cutoff. With Deputy Bledsoe in pursuit, Holloway crashed his car into a ditch and the end of Ward Cutoff. EMS was contacted, and Holloway was transported to the Delta Memorial Hospital. Holloway faces charges of Felony Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, indecent exposure, and numerous other criminal and traffic charges.
