On October 22, 2021 Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 278 East in reference to a fight between two individuals. Upon arrival deputies located the victim, age 68 of Drew County who had sustained injuries to his face and back of his head. The victim was transported by ambulance to the airport then airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock. According to witnessess the victim had been involved in an altercation with Kenneth Bea, age 58 of Dermott, AR. During the investigation Bea was arrested, transported to the Drew County Detention Facility and charged with Battery 1st degree. Bea appeared before Judge Bynum Gibson on October 25, 2021 for a first appearance. Bea’s bond was set at $10,000 cash. Bea has since bonded out of jail.
