Drew Memorial Health System Coronavirus UPDATE

In response to the presumptive confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Jefferson County, Arkansas, Drew Memorial Health System will be taking precautionary measures to further protect our patients, staff and visitors.
First and foremost, please be advised that Drew Memorial Health System is not a testing site for Coronavirus (COVID-19). If you have symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, contact your primary care doctor, or call the Arkansas Department of Health at (800) 803-7847 during normal business hours (8:00am – 4:30pm). After normal business hours, urgent calls needing immediate response, please call (501) 661-2136.
In an effort to further protect our patients and staff, all visitor and patient traffic will be limited to the Main Entrance, Allied Health East Entrance, and the Emergency Room Entrance. As of 2:00 p.m. today, March 11, 2020, visitors will be limited to direct caregivers only. Upon entry to the facility, all visitors, and patients will be required to provide responses to:
 Questions regarding international travel within the last 14 days.
 Questions regarding contact with a known or suspected person infected with
Coronavirus (COVID-19).
 Questions regarding signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as cough,
sore throat, and fever by measuring temperature. One’s temperature may not exceed 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit for any visitor entering the facility.
Further, vendors and salespersons are asked to refrain from entering the building until these precautions are no longer necessary. All regularly scheduled patient appointments and services will continue to take place; however, there may be slight delays given the above-mentioned facility entry precautions.
Drew Memorial Health System is taking these necessary precautionary measures to reduce the risk of exposure to our patients and staff, and are confident that there is no need to panic. Continue to practice safe hand hygiene, use hand sanitizers, and avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
Again, these precautions are temporary, and we will continue to provide updates as risks are reduced and more information becomes available.
