UAM Finishes Sixth at GAC Preview
The UAM men’s golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the conclusion of the final round at the GAC Preview Tuesday. The Weevils shot a total 882 to finish just four strokes out of a top five finish at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Okla.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the conclusion of the final round at the GAC Preview Tuesday. The event was hosted by Southern Nazarene at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Monday and Tuesday.
The Weevils shot 882 as a team to finish just four strokes out of a top five finish at the tournament.
Three players finished in the top-20 for UAM. Andrew Pearson shot 219 (78, 68, 73) through three rounds to land tied for 13th overall. Carson Garner finished just one stroke back with a total of 220 (72, 73, 75) which put him in a tie for 15th. Following right behind as another top-20 finisher for the Weevils was TJ Baker who ended up tied for 17th after shooting a total of 221 (80, 71, 70).
Rounding out the group for UAM were Julian Audibert who posted a total of 228 (77, 73, 78) to finish tied for 32nd and Ethan Bearden who tied for 36th after shooting a three-round total of 231 (74, 79, 78).
Harrison May competed as an individual, but was disqualified in the third round. He posted a two-round total of 155 before his disqualification.
The Weevils will compete in the 30th Derrall Foreman Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Delta State. The event will be held at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Mississippi September 20-21.
