When asked “why you are running for city council now?”, her response:

“I have been a participating member in this community since I moved here. It has been with sports, education, politics, spiritual, you name it. I was instrumental in moving our Monticello school board to observe MLK Day in the school system, I helped revive the Neighborhood Watch program in my community which helped shed light on doing something about abandon homes in Monticello neighborhoods, inspired our former mayor to put up speed bumps to eliminate neighborhood speeding, and actively bring back the noise ordinance and curfew.

I am no stranger to work. I think now is a great time for me and the citizens of my ward because it is time for change. If elected, I plan to get to know the citizens of my ward and connect them with the decision making of the city government. I love people and I love their input. I want them to have a voice and believe they want to be heard.”
