On Tuesday, July 26,2022, at approximately 3:25pm, Arkansas State Trooper Travis Tatum was running stationary radar in the area of State Highway 7 and Shady Grove Road. I observed a southbound, white, Lincoln Town Car approach from the rear at 77 MPH in the posted 65 MPH zone. I activated my lights and began to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle did not immediately yield to my lights and siren and began to pass vehicles just before the intersection with Shady Grove Road. After passing the vehicles, the car attempted to make a right hand turn to go westbound on Shady Grove Road. The vehicle took the turn too fast and ran off into the ditch before continuing west on Shady Grove Road. The vehicle traveled west for approximately a mile before making another right turn onto Johnson Road, which was unpaved. I continued to chase the vehicle on Johnson Road until the vehicle turned left on an unnamed gravel road off of Johnson Road. The road conditions caused heavy dust, resulting in me losing sight of the vehicle after taking the unnamed gravel road. The trail then forked off into several smaller gravel roads. Due to the visibility conditions caused by the loose gravel, my vehicle’s capability and the minor violation of the stop, I discontinued my pursuit and radioed my termination to dispatch with the information I gathered about the vehicle.
