The Delta Consortium for Arts and Innovation (DCAI) is working in partnership with the City of Lake Village, Lake Village Economic Development Committee, Lake Village Chamber of Commerce, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (UACES), and a federal partner to develop the “Creative Corridor” along Main Street Lake Village stretching from the Main Street Pocket Park to the Lakefront Amphitheater. The Creative Corridor project encompasses economic and community development initiatives through the infusion of arts and health.

….

As a part of this project, DCAI is leading a crosswalk art initiative along Main Street. Creative placemaking projects such as crosswalk art or “street murals” help in revitalization efforts through enhancing quality of place and promoting local tourism. This will be the second major public art initiative along the Creative Corridor, the Lakefront Amphitheater mural being the first. Through the creative placemaking initiatives and public art projects of the Creative Corridor, DCAI and City partners plan to restore and renew Downtown Main Street as a center of community activity.
