
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Arkansas-Monticello men’s golf team closed out the first day of the 2022 Battle for the Belt Tournament on Monday afternoon at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas. UAM closed out the first day of the tournament in eleventh place, with two individuals competing as well.
Senior Andrew Pearson led the Weevils throughout day one, closing out the first two rounds of the tournament tied for 30th. Throughout those two rounds played, he carded six-over, after a 74 in the first round and a 76 in the second.
Owen Page came out of the first day shooting a 76 in the first, followed by an improvement 75 in round two. He finished day one of the tournament tied for 35th.
Chase Gedak finished the day tied for 38th place. He shot a 75 in round one, followed by an 77 in round two.
TJ Baker started out the event with a first round 74. He finished round two with an 80. He finished the day tied for 46th.
Jacob Gallas is competing individually in the event finished tied for 49th place, shooting an 81 in his first round and a 75 in the second.
Ethan Bearden is tied for 52nd place. He shot a 75 in round one and an 82 in his second round.
Bailey Dooley is also competing individually in the event, finishing the first day of the tournament in 58th place. He carded an 82 in the first round, followed by an 81 in round two.
