  1. Hey Wesley,

I’m Lon Tegels. I’m the Communications Director for the UAM College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources. I just stumbled across your site this morning while playing on my phone. If you would like to receive my videos and news releases let me know. I’m not exactly sure what kind of things you post since it was a Fire Department response in Monticello that caught my initial attention. I can be reached on my cell phone at 419-303-4223.

Storms whipped through Monticello on January 10th, 2010. According to the national weather service, winds were in excess of 70 miles per hour. I heard reports of up to 90 miles an hour. While UAM had a half dozen trees go down, including one on the Chancellor’s home, most of the damage was concentrated south of the campus on Bowser Road. More than 100 homes sustained considerable damage and too many to count large trees were toppled. The UAM Forestry Club took it upon itself to go out and help whoever needed it with their limited resources. One residence on Bowser road was UAM Professor Dr. Farrokh Abedi. He had three trees land on his house. Here is some of his story.
