According to the Monticello Police Department Chief of Police, Carlos Garcia, Monticello Police Department arrested Rodney Trotter in connection with a shooting that occurred on May 1, 2023. Officers received a call and responded to a residence where a man was shot on the leg. The quick reaction from officers led the suspect to be quickly apprehended. The victim, Dontrail Ridgell was transported and treated at Drew Memorial Hospital, where he was later discharged. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
