According to Monticello Chief Carlo Garcia, the Monticello Police Department is mourning the passing of the
police department’s K9, Cezar, after an unfortunate incident that injured Cezar during the recent storm this
past Tuesday.
Cezar performed his duties as the Police Department’s K-9 unit for several years, apprehending suspects
wanted for offenses ranging from kidnapping to drug offenses. He was trained in narcotics detection as well as
tracking. He was a nationally certified K9, and was the recipient of multiple grants for K9 equipment and
training.
He was a member of the Monticello Police Department and will be sorely missed by those he protected.
