Monticello Man Arrested After Calls Of Victim’s At Intersection Of N Hyatt & HWY 35 Being Run Over Earns Bond Of $150,000

PRESS RELEASE

On the date of May 23, 2023 members of the Monticello Police Department responded to a call in the area of W. Trotter St. in reference to victims being run over. Upon the arrival of officers, a suspect was quickly developed in the case and arrested. During further investigation it was determined that the incident location was in the County’s jurisdiction at the intersection of N. Hyatt and Highway 35. The victims (ages 24 years old and 20 months) in the case were transported to hospitals in the Central Arkansas area where they are currently seeking further medical attention.

The suspect responsible for the injuries sustained is identified as being Bobby Forrest (43) of Monticello. Forrest was taken before Judge Crews Puryear for a First Judicial Appearance on May 25, 2023 for the charges of Battery 1st Degree (x’s 2). His bond was set at $150,000.

This investigation is currently still ongoing and being investigated by the Drew County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Monticello Police Department. Once completed the case will be turned over to Prosecutor Frank Spain for formal charges.
