MPD & MFD would like to thank Pastor Alford Branch for his decades of service and leadership as Pastor of Holmes Chapel Church and to the citizens of Monticello. Police Chief Jason Akers presented Pastor Branch with both Police and Fire Department badges as a token of appreciation for his service to first responders. Pastor Branch is retiring and preached his last sermon as Pastor this past Sunday.
Chief Akers said “There’s not a finer man or better leader than Pastor Branch and nothing means more to us than our badges and what they stand for. So we wanted to give a piece of our hearts to him since he’s given so much to all of us. There’s no telling at the number of people he has helped or led to Christ.”
Chief Chisom said “On behalf of the the Monticello Fire Department we want to thank Rev. Branch for his continued support of not only our first responders, but also our City. We need more dedicated community leaders like him and we wish him the best in his retirement.”
