Press Release Pine Bluff Ark Homicide

On 06/24/2016 Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to the area of Dollarway and McConnel in reference to a man down. They found 32 year old Eric Johnson lying in the street. Mr. Johnson was conscious but could not tell Officers what happened to him. He said he believed he had been hit by a vehicle and had no feeling below his neck. After being transported to JRMC it was discovered that Mr. Johnson had been shot in the neck. Mr. Johnson was transported to Baptist in Little Rock and died, apparently from his wounds, on the morning of 7/3/2016. Mr. Johnson’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Mr. Johnson is believed to have been at one or more residences in the area of Dollarway in Pine Bluff the night of his shooting. A copy of Mr. Johnson’s picture is attached below. Anyone with information about where Mr. Johnson was on the night of the shooting or with any information about this homicide is asked to contact the Detective Division at 870-730-2090 or dispatch at 870-541-5300.
