On Febuary 14, 2022 The Drew County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Arkansas State Crime Lab concerning the skeletal remains found in Drew County on December 27, 2021. The remains were identified through dental analysis as being Barry Harmon.
Harmon was reported missing on January 6, 2015 by his parents after Harmon failed to return from hunting in a wooded area near his residence on Hayden Loop in Northern Drew County. During that time a large scale search was conducted for approximately three weeks.
In the days following the discovery of the skeletal remains the Drew County Sheriff’s Office conducted two separate searches covering a large area near where the partial remains were found. A cavadaver dog from South Louisana was called in to assist with one of the searches. No additional remains were found but future searches will be conducted.
Sheriff Mark Gober stated “the Drew County Sheriff’s Office extends their thoughts and prayers to the family of Barry Harmon and with this news it is our prayer that the family can find so
