Star City School District EAST students Patience Sherrill, Alysia Goodnight, and John Anthony Logan organized this year’s Red Ribbon Week at the high school with the help of the school resource officers, Samantha Mitchusson and Brian Pickens. This week consisted of guest speakers, interactive activities, and dress up days that were all dedicated to drug free awareness and prevention of drug abuse. They hosted a district wide hat day and students could bring $1 to wear a hat. The money collected was donated to the Lincoln County Arkansas Sheriff’s Office to fund the new K9 officer, Raven, after the former K9 officer, Lex’s, unexpected passing. The Head Marketing Director, Katie Henley, presented Lincoln County Sheriff Leonard Hogg and Officer Fallis with the check today.
These SCHS EAST students along with SCHS JAG, and the Jimmy Brown Elementary GT program collected over $600 to be donated.
