Star City Arkansas Man Charged With Aggravated Animal Cruelty

A Star City Arkansas man has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and his bond has been set at $2,500.


On December 30th 2021 Star City Arkansas Police Department Sgt. Ben Reeves was notified of an abandoned dog located in the block of 202B Park St. The residence was being rented by Michael Mosby but Mosby had been staying at an unknown location and only occasionally returned to the residence. Sgt. Reeves made several attempts to contact Mosby at the residence but was unable to contact anyone at the residence.



On January 1st 2022. Sgt. Reeves approached the dog and noticed there was no food, shelter or water within reach of the dog. Sgt. Reeves contacts Animal Control and removed the dog from the residence.


The dog was taken to the Star City Animal Hospital where it was discovered the harness it had been wearing had grown into the dog’s skin and had become infected, requiring surgery and treatment for the infection.

Mosby’s whereabouts are currently unknown. I affirm the information represented here is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
