Sturaro Selected to All-GAC Second Team and Qualifies for Central Regional

The University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golf team had one individual qualify for the 2022 NCAA Central Region Tournament. Chiara Sturaro will compete in the tournament on May 2-4 at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Sturaro is the first UAM individual to qualify for the Central Regional since Frida Rydberg in 2018.

Sturaro finished out the GAC Women’s Golf Championships on April 10-12 tied for 11th place. She finished the tournament with a 17-over 233, after shooting an 81, 76, and 76 through her three rounds. 

She was selected to the 2022 All-GAC Women’s Golf Second Team and currently has the second-best scoring average in a single season in Blossoms history with an average score of 78.24, beating her previous season average of 79.25.

In total, the Great American Conference has three teams and three individuals competing in the tournament field.
