UAM Competes at Watson Collegiate Invitational
The UAM Cross Country Teams Competed in Mississippi Today
Clinton, Miss. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Watson Collegiate Invitational today at Mississippi College. The men’s team notched a top-20 finish in the 8K race, while the women ran a 6K.
Bryce Johnson was the first Weevil to cross the finish line as he recorded a time of 28:34.7. Gilberto Fernandez finished a couple minutes after his teammate as Fernandez completed his 8K just over 31 minutes.
Kyle Glover and Brandon Gurnsey followed closely behind as Glover recorded a time of 33:38.7, while Gurnsey clocked in at 38:44.9.
Collin Carroll also competed at the Watson Collegiate Invitational.
Rebecca Perry paced the Blossoms as she raced around the course to finish with a time of 30:15.5. BreAmber Wallace followed behind her teammate closely to record a 6K time of 30:50.2.
Joana Ramos finished one minute after Wallace, while Caden Young crossed the finish line with a time of 35:29.0.

The UAM cross country teams will return to the course next weekend to compete in the Little Rock Open. The race will take place at War Memorial Park with the men’s 8K beginning at 10:15 a.m. and the women’s 5K competition starting at 11:00 a.m.
