Weevils End Day One at GAC Preview in Fifth

The UAM men’s golf team sits in fifth place out of eight teams at the end of the first day at the GAC Preview Monday. The Weevils shot a total 586 through two rounds at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Okla.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s golf team ended the first day of the Great American Conference Preview in fifth place out of eight teams on Monday. The event is being hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Weevils shot 586 as a team through two rounds at Lake Hefner Golf Club.

Carson Garner and Andrew Pearson were the top players for UAM on day one finishing tied for 10th and 12th. Garner posted a two-round total of 145 (+1) while Pearson shot 146 (+2).

The next two finishers for the Weevils were Julian Audibert who shot a total of 150 (+6) to land tied for 25th and TJ Baker who posted a 151 (+7) two-round total to end the day tied for 28th.

Ethan Bearden sits in a tie for 32nd after shooting 153 (+9) on the first day of the event.

Rounding out the group for UAM was Harrison May who is playing as an individual. He landed tied for 35th after posting a two-round total of 155 (+11).

UP NEXT

The Weevils will finish with the third and final round of the GAC Preview in Oklahoma City Tuesday morning. The first tee time for the Weevils is set for 7:40 a.m.
