MONTICELLO, Ark. – UAM on Friday released its 49-game 2023 baseball schedule, which begins on Friday, February 3, when the Weevils travel to Clinton, Mississippi to face the Choctaws of Mississippi College in Game 1 of a three-game series.
Arkansas-Monticello opens its 2022 season at home against Mississippi College (Feb. 3-4), with head coach John Harvey heading into his thirteenth season leading the Weevils. Associate Head Coach Mark Jelks also returns for his ninth season with the Boll Weevils baseball program.
St. Cloud State comes to town for the second week of non-conference action (Feb. 11-12) before the Weevils travel to Russellville, Arkansas to take on in-state Great American Conference member Arkansas Tech University (Feb. 14), where they’ll take on the Wonder Boys in a non-conference mid-week game.
The Weevils opens up its 2023 conference run on the road in Ada, Oklahoma as they battle the Tigers of East Central University (Feb. 17-18), before returning home the following week to host Union University in a mid-week match-up (Feb. 21) and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in a three-game GAC series (Feb. 24-25). After hosting a second conference weekend with Ouachita Baptist University (Mar. 3-4), the Weevils host rival, and 2022 GAC and Central Region Champions, Southern Arkansas University in a non-conference Tuesday contest (Mar. 70.
The Weevils travel to Searcy, Arkansas to take on Harding University in their fourth conference series of the 2023 season (Mar. 10-11). After returning home to host power house Delta State University in a mid-week (Mar. 14), Arkansas-Monticello is back on the road, heading to Shawnee, Oklahoma for a weekend series with Oklahoma Baptist University (Mar. 17-18). They follow up with a Tuesday road trip back to Mississippi College (Mar. 21).
UAM will host two straight conference series with an away mid-week in between. The first of which against Southern Nazarene University (Mar. 24-25), followed by a road trip to Union University (Mar. 29). Upon returning home, UAM will host Arkansas Tech University (Mar. 31-Apr. 1).
The Weevils then play four straight games against in-state GAC member Henderson State. Arkansas-Monticello hosts the first in a mid-week (Apr. 4), then travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the weekend series (Apr. 7-8). The Weekend is followed by a road trip to Delta State University (Apr. 11), a home series with Northwestern Oklahoma State University (Apr. 14-15) and a mid-week trip to Ouachita Baptist University (Apr. 18).
The GAC run continues with a road trip to Weatherford, Oklahoma to battle Southwestern Oklahoma State University weekend (Apr. 21-22). Arkansas-Monticello host Mississippi College (Apr. 25) before heading to Magnolia, Arkansas for their final games and conference series of the regular season against rival Southern Arkansas University (Apr. 28-29).
