Volleyball Falls to Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Volleyball team came up short in their Tuesday nightshowdown against Great American Conference foe Ouachita Baptist University. The Blossoms played three sets in the match, falling to the Tigers, 3-0.

UAM closes out the day with a 10-15 season record and a 4-8 GAC record on the 2022 season after the conclusion of Tuesday.

The opening set began with UAM scoring the first point of the match, but they were quickly overtaken by the Tigers after a 7-0 run. The remainder of the set would go in favor of Ouachita Baptist as they would take the win, 25-11.

Set two began in similar fashion to the first as the Blossoms put up the first points. OUA would follow up with nin straight points to take back the lead. UAM refused to give in, battling all the way back to a one point difference at 23-22. Unfortunately, the home team would put up two straight points to take the set, 25-22.

The final set of the match leaned in favor of the Tigers. Riley Krenek found opportunities to put a kill on the board throughout the series, but UAM would eventually fall in set three, 25-10, and lose the match 3-0.

Riley Krenek led the Blossoms in kills with 11.

Mia Smalls contributed 25 assists in the match.

Defensively, the Blossoms were led by Stasha Adams who had 13 digs.


UP NEXT
UAM returns to action on Thursday, October 20 as they travel to Russellville, Arkansas to take on Great American Conference member Arkansas Tech University. The game is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
